President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security and intelligence agencies to ramp up efforts for the immediate rescue of individuals abducted from a mosque in Niger State.
This directive was announced in a statement released on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Tinubu expressed deep concern over the kidnapping and murder of innocent citizens by criminals in the region.
Condemning the Attack
The President labeled the attack as a cowardly assault on unarmed Nigerians, promising that those responsible would be brought to justice. He emphasized that the perpetrators are enemies of peace and humanity who will not evade accountability.
Offering his condolences to the families affected by the attack, Tinubu assured them of the government’s commitment to securing the safe return of the abducted individuals. He pledged that the nation stands with the victims and their families, vowing that efforts will continue until everyone is safely reunited with their loved ones.
Service Chiefs Tasked with Updates
Tinubu also directed the Service Chiefs to keep him informed on the rescue operation’s progress until all victims are located and rescued. He highlighted that terrorism and criminal violence will not destabilize the country.
The President reiterated the government’s duty to protect its citizens, support vulnerable communities, and ensure a safe environment for all Nigerians.
Security Agencies on High Alert
The directive places heightened pressure on security agencies to find and safely retrieve the victims. The operation will rely on intelligence gathering, surveillance, and coordinated efforts by military and police forces, along with other security entities.
Tinubu reassured that the government remains dedicated to defending Nigerians, upholding the value of human life, and ensuring accountability for those behind the attack.
