A young Nigerian named Samuel Ezekiel recounted how he was allegedly misled by a friend into undergoing a kidney removal in Abuja. He claims that his identity was altered before the operation and that the payment he received was later used to buy electronic devices.

Ezekiel shared his experience on Friday during a press briefing as the Nigeria Police Force presented suspects linked to an alleged organ-harvesting ring in Abuja.

He explained that his friend, Emmanuel Udeh, initially told him about a hospital visit for unclear reasons. Trusting Udeh, Ezekiel followed the instructions without realizing he was being set up for a kidney donation.

According to Ezekiel, Udeh introduced him to another man named David, who then connected him with an agent called Ben for medical tests.

The first test did not align with the intended recipient, but the agent soon informed Ezekiel that they found another recipient whose requirements matched his kidney.

At this point, he alleged, it was revealed that his identity would be changed, telling him he would now be known as Hassan Abubakar.

Following this, an affidavit was prepared at the Federal High Court, and Ezekiel was taken to Wellington Hospital in Life Camp, Abuja.

Ezekiel stated that he signed documents at the hospital before the operation commenced. Payment was reportedly made shortly before he entered the operating room, around 10 or 11 pm. The money was given in dollars, but he later handed it to his friend, who allegedly exchanged it and used part of it to buy phones, power banks, and Wi-Fi devices.

These allegations are part of a broader inquiry into an alleged organ-harvesting syndicate operating in Abuja and surrounding regions.

The Nigeria Police Force has been investigating a group accused of exploiting vulnerable individuals for kidney operations under dubious conditions.

Ezekiel’s narrative adds a troubling aspect to the investigation, especially regarding claims that victims were misled about the medical procedures they were undertaking.

Authorities aim to uncover the full scenario around Ezekiel’s case, looking into the roles of the individuals involved, the medical facility’s involvement, and any connected financial dealings.

The investigation is ongoing, and those implicated are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
