President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on newly commissioned officers of the Nigerian Defence Academy to dedicate themselves to the service of Nigeria and the protection of its citizens.
The President made the call during the Combined Passing-Out Parade of the NDA in Kaduna.
The event marked the graduation and commissioning of cadets of the 73 Regular Course, as well as personnel who completed other military training programmes.
Discipline and Honour
Tinubu told the new officers that their military commission carries a responsibility to the nation.
He urged them to respect the Constitution and remain disciplined in the performance of their duties.
The President also emphasised honour and selfless service, encouraging the officers to put the interests of Nigeria and its people at the centre of their military careers.
The passing-out parade represents an important stage in the professional development of the cadets, who have undergone military and academic training at the NDA.
Protecting Nigerians
The President further charged the officers to contribute to the security and protection of Nigerians as they take up their responsibilities within the armed forces.
He stressed that professionalism and commitment would be essential as they begin their careers in military service.
The ceremony in Kaduna brought together senior military officials, government representatives, relatives and other guests to witness the commissioning of the new officers.
The newly commissioned personnel will now proceed to their respective areas of military service, where they are expected to apply the training and values acquired at the academy.
