Nollywood actor Charles Okocha has dismissed singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, over claims that he bit him during their recent celebrity boxing rematch.
Speaking during an appearance on TVC Entertainment on Tuesday, Okocha described the allegation as false, insisting he had no reason to bite his opponent.
“I would rather chew grass than bite Portable,” the actor said.
The pair clashed in a celebrity boxing rematch at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos on Friday, with Okocha emerging victorious after Portable was disqualified for violating the rules by switching from wrestling techniques to punches before eventually walking out of the ring.
Following the contest, Portable accused Okocha of biting him on the back and locking his neck during the bout, claiming the actor fought unfairly.
Reacting to the accusation, Okocha explained that he wore a mouth guard throughout the fight, making it impossible for him to bite anyone.
“Portable has been going around telling people I bit him on the back. I was wearing a mouth guard; how is that even possible? He was just lying,” Okocha said.
The actor went on to mock the singer, saying he would never consider biting him under any circumstances.
“I would rather chew grass than bite him. I don’t want to catch rabies. Have you seen how Portable’s skin looks? Hell no, I wouldn’t do that. He should just accept defeat,” he added.
