Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has declared that the Gunners are ready to compete for every major trophy this season as Mikel Arteta’s side look to build on their recent success.
Havertz said Arsenal’s ambition is not simply to defend their Premier League title but to challenge for every piece of silverware available.
“We want all the trophies. That’s what we’re here for,” Havertz said, underlining the club’s determination to raise its standards even further.
The German forward acknowledged that winning trophies requires Arsenal to reach another level, particularly because of the demands of competing across multiple competitions.
“We’ve won the Premier League now, but there’s a lot more that we can do,” he said. “We have to reach another level to make that happen because we know how long the season is and how hard it is to go through all the competitions.”
Havertz’s comments come after Arsenal made an impressive start to the new campaign. The Gunners defeated Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield before opening their Premier League title defence with a convincing 3-0 victory over Coventry City.
Havertz also played a key role in Arsenal’s strong opening to the league campaign, scoring against Coventry as Arteta’s team produced a dominant display.
The forward’s return to full fitness is another boost for Arsenal after he missed a significant portion of the previous season with a knee injury. His versatility gives Arteta another attacking option as the club competes on several fronts.
Arsenal will face a demanding schedule in the Premier League, Champions League and domestic cup competitions. The club has also strengthened its squad during the transfer window as it seeks to compete at the highest level.
Havertz believes the team must maintain its focus throughout the long campaign.
“We want to do it better again this year and make things happen again,” he said.
With Arsenal already showing impressive form, Havertz’s message is clear: the Gunners are not satisfied with winning just one major trophy. They want to challenge for everything.
