The All Progressives Congress has won four of the five legislative seats contested in Saturday’s bye-elections held across four states.
APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has congratulated the party’s candidates who emerged victorious in the polls.
The elections took place in Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.
Four APC Candidates Emerge Victorious
The APC candidates who won are Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a, Husseini Datti, Okolosi Ator and Yakubu Ali.
MaiJama’a won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency election.
Datti emerged winner of the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency election in Kano.
Ator won the Udu State Constituency seat in Delta, while Ali secured victory in the Disina State Constituency election in Bauchi.
The remaining contest was the Sakwa State Constituency election in Bauchi, where the Allied Peoples Movement secured the seat.
Yilwatda Congratulates Winners
Reacting to the outcome, Yilwatda congratulated the four APC candidates.
He said their victories reflected the confidence placed in the candidates and the party by voters.
The APC national chairman also praised party officials, campaign teams and voters for their participation in the democratic process.
He further commended INEC, security agencies and other stakeholders for their roles during the elections.
Winners Urged to Focus on Service
Yilwatda described the victories as a responsibility to the people who elected the candidates.
He urged the newly elected lawmakers to remain humble and focus on effective representation.
The September 19 elections were conducted to fill five vacant legislative seats across the four states. INEC’s results platform lists the five contests, including the Gombe federal constituency and the four State Assembly constituencies.
