Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has pledged to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that he intends to mobilise support for the President across the state.

The governor made the commitment on Sunday during a meeting with APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru.

Adeleke stressed that his statement should not be regarded as an ordinary political promise, insisting that he takes his commitments seriously.

He said political leaders should operate with honesty and integrity while encouraging stakeholders in Osun to set aside political differences and unite behind the President.

The governor maintained that his support for Tinubu was sincere and said he stood by his promise to deliver the state’s votes to the President.

He attributed his political principles partly to the influence of his father, whom he said was a diplomat and labour union politician who instilled important values in him.

The declaration comes at a time when politicians and political parties are already intensifying preparations for the 2027 elections.

Adeleke’s position could further shape political calculations in Osun as different parties and political figures begin positioning themselves for the next electoral contest.

While the governor has made his position clear, the coming months are expected to reveal how his political support translates into campaign activities and voter mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
