The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 39 cargo vessels carrying petroleum products, food items and other imports are expected to arrive at major Lagos ports between Monday and Saturday.
The projection was contained in the authority’s Daily Shipping Position released on Monday, outlining scheduled vessel movements at Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tincan Island Port.
According to the NPA, 11 of the incoming vessels are container ships transporting a wide range of imported goods for businesses and consumers across Nigeria.
The remaining 28 vessels are expected to berth with cargoes including petrol, crude oil, diesel, bulk urea, and other general merchandise.
Other consignments scheduled to arrive during the week include bulk wheat, liquefied petroleum gas (cooking gas), gypsum, sugar, repair materials, and bulk pallets for industrial and commercial use.
“The vessels are expected at Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tincan Island Port between Aug. 3 and Aug. 8,” the authority stated.
The NPA also disclosed that 10 vessels had already arrived at the ports and were awaiting berthing approval.
According to the shipping schedule, the vessels on standby are carrying petrol, crude oil, bulk wheat, fertiliser, containers, and other general cargo.
The authority further noted that cargo operations remain active across the three major Lagos ports, reflecting sustained maritime and commercial activities.
It added that 21 vessels are currently discharging cargo at Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tincan Island Port.
The cargoes being offloaded include containers, petrol, crude oil, base oil, bulk wheat, sugar, general cargo, bulk pallets, and other materials required to support industrial production, energy distribution and commercial activities across the country.
