Nigerian Afrobeat sensation David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, has shared his thoughts on the arrival of prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, for their governorship campaign rally.
Reports suggest that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and several governors from the ruling party have assembled in Osun to take part in a rally leading up to the election on Saturday. These APC leaders are committed to ensuring success at the polls.
Governors who arrived in Osogbo on Wednesday night included Hope Uzodimma from Imo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa from Ondo State, and Uba Sani from Kaduna State.
On his official X account, Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State governor, extended a welcome to the APC dignitaries visiting the state. Meanwhile, Davido reshared Oyetola’s post on X with doubts about APC’s prospects in the upcoming election.
He commented that even with support similar to Jesus’s 12 disciples, the ruling party would not win the election: “Even if you assemble Jesus’s 12 disciples, you’ll still fail for the third time,” he wrote.
Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, the current governor of Osun State, is aiming for re-election as a candidate from the Accord Party.
