Troops from Operation Fansan Yamma have successfully rescued 14 individuals who were kidnapped after engaging with suspected terrorists in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The rescue mission took place on Tuesday, August 18th, following reliable intelligence received by the troops regarding terrorists moving through the Madaci Forest with a group of captives.
The military reported that Sector 2 troops of Operation Fansan Yamma promptly proceeded to the location and confronted the terrorists in a firefight.
It was reported that the pressure applied by the troops forced the assailants to release their captives and retreat into the nearby bushes.
According to a statement from the operation’s Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the troops conducted a thorough search of the area and successfully rescued all 14 victims.
The rescued individuals included six men and eight women.
Individuals Abducted from Various Communities
Preliminary investigations indicated that the victims were taken from different communities in the Dandume, Bakori, and Funtua areas of Katsina State.
Their rescue represents yet another operation by security forces aimed at disrupting the activities of terrorist and kidnapping factions operating in the North-West.
The military stated that this successful intervention highlights the effectiveness of troops in responding to intelligence regarding the movements of armed groups and their captives.

Operation Fansan Yamma has continued to conduct military operations across the North-West to limit the movements of terrorists and other criminal organizations.
The Theatre Command announced that troops will persist in applying pressure on terrorist factions while also intensifying efforts to protect communities and rescue those who are held captive.
