2027 Elections: Sanwo-Olu, Fashola and Ambode Get Roles in Lagos APC Campaign Structure

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has constituted its campaign council for the 2027 general elections, with current and former governors among those named in the structure.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former governor Babatunde Fashola and former governor Akinwunmi Ambode are all included in the newly released arrangement.

The list was issued on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre.

Former Governors Join Advisory Structure

Prince Tajudeen Olusi is named Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council.

Sanwo-Olu will head the Advisory Council, with Fashola and Ambode serving as Co-Chairmen.

The advisory structure also includes several senior political and public figures.

Among them are Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly; and former Health Minister Adeleke Mamora.

Campaign Leadership Announced

Sanwo-Olu is also designated Chairman of the main campaign council.

Hamzat, the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos, is listed as Deputy Chairman.

Cornelius Ojelabi, Mudashiru Obasa and Damilola Sonayon James are named as Vice Chairmen I, II and III.

The campaign’s administrative leadership will be headed by former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro as Director-General.

Rasaq Ajala is listed as Deputy Director-General, while Adekunle Olayinka will serve as Campaign Secretary.

Specialised Units Created

The campaign council has been divided into several directorates and committees to handle different areas of campaign organisation.

These include legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.

The structure also includes grassroots coordinators and co-coordinators covering Lagos LGAs and LCDAs.
