Tottenham Hotspur have secured Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City for an initial fee reported at £75 million ($102 million), pushing the club’s total spending this transfer window past £300 million.

The 22-year-old arrives at Tottenham after two seasons at Manchester City, where he struggled to become a regular starter.

Spurs are counting on the Brazilian to bring pace, creativity, and an attacking edge as they aim to bounce back from a challenging Premier League season that saw them narrowly avoid relegation.

Savinho Thrilled About Joining Tottenham

Savinho has shared his excitement about joining Tottenham and working with head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

“It’s been a long time coming, but I’m thrilled to be here. It’s an incredible opportunity at a fantastic club with one of the top managers globally,” Savinho mentioned in a statement from Tottenham.

He conveyed that a discussion with De Zerbi convinced him to make this move.

“Once I spoke with the head coach, I was sure I needed to join. He told me he wants to help me reach my peak potential, and I believe we can achieve that together as a team,” he remarked.

De Zerbi Fronts Tottenham Rebuilding

This transfer marks another significant investment as De Zerbi continues to revamp the squad.

The Italian coach made an immediate impact at the close of last season, guiding Spurs away from relegation to the Championship for the first time in 49 years.

Nonetheless, Tottenham’s new campaign got off to a bad start, with De Zerbi’s side suffering a 3-0 defeat against Brentford during the opening weekend.

Savinho’s arrival is anticipated to bolster an attack in need of greater speed and inventiveness.

Spurs Maintain Aggressive Spending

Savinho joins as the latest major addition in Tottenham’s bold transfer strategy.

The club has also signed Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali, and Jan Paul van Hecke for notable fees, while Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Martin Dubravka have come on free transfers.

With spending now surpassing £300 million, expectations are high for De Zerbi to turn around Tottenham’s fortunes.

For Savinho, this move offers the chance to play more consistently and showcase the attacking talents that established him as one of Europe’s most promising young Brazilian players.

Tottenham hopes his speed and creativity will help them climb away from relegation threats and assert themselves as a strong competitor in the Premier League.
