At least nine people have been killed overnight due to Russian attacks on Ukraine, as Ukraine persists with its long-range drone strikes targeting Russia.
In Zaporizhzhia, six people were killed due to Russian strikes, while in Dnipropetrovsk three lives were lost.
Explosions also occurred in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, resulting in one person being wounded.
In Russia, a drone attack ignited fires at a Wildberries location in Voronezh.
The company, often referred to as Russia’s Amazon, has been consistently targeted by Ukraine in recent weeks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the overnight attacks on Zaporizhzhia included North Korean ballistic missiles.
In a post on X, he characterized it as a “vicious attack designed to cause maximum harm specifically targeting civilian infrastructure.”
As previously reported, six individuals lost their lives and 19 others were injured in the region.
In Kyiv, Zelensky reported that an infectious disease hospital sustained damage from a strike. Additionally, he mentioned that attacks on substations in Kherson and Kharkiv led to power outages.
He states, “Every action Russia undertakes—boosting ballistic missile production, acquiring North Korean equipment, and preparing for mobilization—demonstrates that Moscow is gearing up not for peace but for escalation.” He urges allies to respond with sanctions and enhanced air defenses.
