Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed great confidence that nothing will stop him from winning the 2027 election due to his vitality and energy.
Reflecting on his political journey, Atiku compared his perseverance to that of former United States President Abraham Lincoln, noting that he has repeatedly run for both presidential and governorship positions without achieving success.
In an interview with Jaji TV Hausa, Atiku shared his experiences of running for the governorship in Adamawa State on four occasions, each time being impeded by the military administration. It was only on his fifth attempt that he achieved success.
He commented, “I’m in excellent health, full of energy, and nothing can hinder my progress. Let me tell you this: before winning the governorship election, I ran four times but was thwarted each time by military regimes canceling the process. On my fifth try, I succeeded and eventually became Nigeria’s Vice President. In politics, setbacks are common. Just think about how many elections Abraham Lincoln lost before finally becoming President of the United States.”
