Flight operations of Air Peace have been halted as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) locked the airline’s terminals.

Reports indicate that flight services at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos have been disrupted following a protest involving union members affiliated with Air Peace.

As a result, an Air Peace flight scheduled to depart Lagos at 6:30 a.m. was unable to leave.

This situation mirrors occurrences across airports nationwide.

When contacted, Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), confirmed the event and assured more details would be shared later.

“Yes, it involves the unions. Once I reach the airport, I should be able to gather more accurate information about the situation,” he shared.

An X user, going by YoufoundAlex, expressed his frustration online:

“I’m supposed to have a 9:00 a.m. appointment in Abuja today, but I’m stuck at the Lagos airport due to a protest by Air Peace workers. This has caused the airport to shut down and disrupted flights,” he posted on X.

This development has left passengers in Lagos stranded due to delayed flights.

However, Air Peace’s management has not yet commented on the situation at the time of writing this report.

Additionally, it remains unclear if other airlines have been impacted by this incident.
