The daughters of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have appealed for urgent medical assistance for their father, who they say is battling stage-four cancer.
Lima and Kira Taiwo made separate emotional appeals on Instagram on Monday, asking Nigerians, well-wishers and medical professionals with experience in cancer treatment to help their father.
In an emotional video, Lima said her father’s condition had deteriorated and claimed that hospitals had refused to continue treating him.
She appealed to anyone with connections to hospitals or cancer specialists willing to take on her father’s case to contact the family.
“Please, I’m begging you. If you know somebody that knows somebody that will be willing to treat him, anything, we’re willing to try anything.”
Lima stressed that the family was not asking for money, but was seeking medical assistance and access to professionals who could help.
She said the family only discovered the severity of Ogogo’s condition about three weeks ago, adding that his appearance had initially given little indication of how serious his illness was.
The emotional appeal ended with Lima pleading for help, saying she could not bear to watch her father die.
“I can’t watch my daddy die. I can’t. I can’t. Please, I’m begging you.”
The family’s account reflects their current appeal for treatment; claims that hospitals have “refused to treat” the actor have not been independently verified in the information provided.
