The election features fourteen candidates representing different political parties, but the spotlight is primarily on three frontrunners: incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke from the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, and Najeem Salaam from ADC. In 2022, Adeleke secured his initial term as governor running for PDP by defeating then-incumbent Gboyega Oyetola of the APC with a margin of 3.5%. For this electoral cycle, he has aligned himself with Accord.
Current Turnout: Your observations align with other reports indicating a strong early turnout across polling stations. There have been some BVAS accreditation issues, which were addressed by reverting to fingerprint or facial recognition methods. Additionally, there are delays in the arrival of materials at a few wards. Adeleke arrived at Polling Unit 009, Ward 02, Abogunde compound in Ede North around 8:10 am to cast his vote.
