A Russian drone attack has killed at least three people in Kyiv, Ukrainian officials say.

The attack hit two petrol stations early Friday morning.

Several other people were also injured.

The strikes hit Ukrnafta petrol stations in the Dniprovskyi and Obolonskyi districts.

Emergency teams rushed to both locations after fires broke out.

Death Toll Rises

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko first reported two deaths.

The death toll later rose to three.

One of the injured victims died in hospital.

Four other people remained under treatment.

A rescue worker was also injured during the attacks.

Officials said the casualty figures could change as emergency teams continue their work.

Two Petrol Stations Attacked

The two petrol stations were hit about 10 minutes apart.

The Obolonskyi station was reportedly struck twice.

The second strike came after emergency workers arrived at the scene.

This increased the danger to rescue teams.

Drone debris also hit a car in the area.

One person was injured in the incident.

Firefighters later put out the fires at both stations.

More Attacks on Fuel Stations

The latest attack came just one day after another drone strike on a Ukrnafta station in Kyiv.

That attack injured four people.

It also damaged a vehicle, a bus stop and an eight-storey building.

The attacks have raised concerns about Russian strikes on Ukraine’s fuel infrastructure.

Ukrainian officials say petrol stations have increasingly become targets.

Russia has also used faster drones in recent attacks.

Some of the jet-powered drones can reportedly reach speeds of up to 600 kilometres per hour.

Their speed can make them harder for air-defence systems to stop.

Russia Launches Wider Drone Attack

The Kyiv strikes were part of a larger Russian attack across Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched about 149 drones overnight.

Several types of attack drones and decoys were reportedly involved.

Other cities were also targeted.

Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region came under attack.

The city of Dnipro was also hit.

Ukrainian officials said the wider attacks left at least seven people dead.

More than 120 others were reportedly injured.

Growing Threat to Civilian Life

The latest attacks have increased concerns about civilian safety in Ukraine.

Fuel stations are important to transport and daily economic activity.

Damage to such facilities can also affect the movement of people and goods.

Ukraine continues to seek stronger air-defence systems from its international partners.

The country faces a growing number of drone attacks on Kyiv and other cities.

Russia denies deliberately targeting civilians.

However, civilian buildings and infrastructure have suffered extensive damage during the war.
