Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, has arrived at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning regarding alleged inciting comments.
Fadahunsi reached the headquarter at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, with the Commissioner of Police responsible for election and security, Samuel Erale, according to reports from Channels TV.
His presence was requested after a campaign video circulated from an All Progressives Congress rally in Ilesa. In this video, the senator allegedly made comments in Yoruba interpreted as encouraging his supporters to confront members of the rival Accord Party violently.
The remarks gained police attention amidst the intensified political activities leading up to the Osun State governorship election slated for Saturday.
On Tuesday, the Osun State Police Command instructed Fadahunsi to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department for questioning concerning the video, describing his alleged remarks as threatening, inciting, and likely to escalate tension before the election.
