Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has announced the completion and commissioning of the reconstructed Nassarawa–Flour Mills Road, describing the project as a major infrastructure intervention for communities and businesses across the Kaduna metropolis.

The strategic road runs from the Zenith Bank Roundabout along Old Kachia Road through Makera and Kakuri before connecting to the Western Bypass.

It serves parts of Kaduna South and Chikun Local Government Areas and provides an important link between residential communities, industrial areas, markets and public institutions.

Governor Sani said the project had been left at only 15 per cent completion when he took office.

Rather than allow the road to remain another abandoned infrastructure project, the administration committed resources and attention to completing the corridor.

The reconstructed road now features upgraded drainage and solar-powered streetlights, alongside the improved carriageway.

According to the governor, the completed project is expected to make transportation across the area easier and more efficient.

He said commuters should benefit from reduced journey times and transportation costs, while businesses along the Makera–Kakuri industrial axis would have improved access for the movement of goods and services.

The governor also highlighted improved access to schools, hospitals and other institutions as one of the expected benefits of the project.

He said better road connectivity would also support faster emergency response and contribute to creating conditions that encourage investment and employment.

During the commissioning ceremony, residents from communities along the corridor expressed appreciation for the government’s intervention and highlighted the importance of the road to their everyday activities.

The governor said the support from beneficiary communities had further strengthened his administration’s determination to pursue projects with practical and sustainable benefits.

He described the Nassarawa–Flour Mills Road as part of his administration’s wider infrastructure agenda aimed at improving mobility and supporting economic growth across Kaduna.

“Our work continues,” the governor said, reaffirming his commitment to further development projects across the state.
